Deborah Parker is the Operations Manager for Revive Dental Care. She was born and raised in Hythe, one of the Cinque Ports, in South East Kent and moved up to Manchester in 1987.
She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1989, and has experience in all types of dental services, from General Practice through to forensic work. Latterly she has gained qualifications from the University of Central Lancashire in Healthcare Management and Coaching and Mentoring. Debs is relishing the challenge of undertaking an MBA in the near future!
“As a nurse, I specialised in Orthodontics and Oral Surgery and I also had the opportunity to work alongside a Forensic Odontologist, assisting the police and coroner on a number of cases with crimes and forensic identifications. Working at Revive, I have also developed a special interest in the provision of services for the Homeless and other hard to reach groups.”
Debs has worked for Revive Dental Care since 2010, having joined the business as a single site Practice Manager. Over time, she has seen her own role change and progress to overall Operations Manager, as Revive’s services have developed and grown.
She always wanted a job that allowed her to make a difference. She went into dentistry thinking she would “give it a go” for 6 months. Within days, she realised that she had found her vocation, and the rest is history!
Whilst obviously loving her job, Debs’ family also play an important role in her life and time spent with them is a pleasure. She is Grandma to 3 grandchildren, Ava, Josh and Harry, and is hoping to be blessed with a couple more in the future.
Her other main interests, outside work, are the theatre, with a particular love of Opera and if she could choose any other career, she would want to work in Musical Theatre. She is also a bit of a Star Wars geek if the truth be known!
One of Debs’ other most notable achievements to date was passing her British Sign Language qualification
