National Apprenticeship Week

Revive Dental Care is committed to offering young people a chance to experience dentistry as a career. We became involved with the National Apprenticeship organisation through our colleagues at Damar Training. February saw the launch of National Apprenticeship week and we were invited to go along to the BBC to discuss our views on apprenticeships and how they benefit both the business and the apprentice.

Going to the BBC

Lucie Howard, our first apprentice, and I went along to BBC Radio Manchester where we took part in an on air discussion along with an apprentice called Tom from Stockport Council on the Allan Beswick breakfast show. It was very exciting as none of us had ever done a live radio broadcast before. Lucie and Tom were absolute stars and were worthy ambassadors for all apprentices. The 3 minutes allotted to us seemed to fly past and before we knew it, the whole process was over and it was back to work for Lucie and I.

New Apprentice

We are pleased to announce that we have now recruited our latest apprentice taking our total number to 5, 4 of them work at our Davyhulme site and 1 at Monton. What is even better is that this time we have recruited a young man. Dental Nursing has historically been seen as a job for female staff, so it is great that more young men are seeing the job as a career path worth pursuing. We wish Jake the best of luck!
